Ordained in 1975, Fr. Mark Schramm has served the SVD Community in a wide range of academic, leadership and parish assignments, from the U.S. to the Province of Ghana to his most recent pre-Miramar work at St. Patrick’s Church on the Caribbean island of Montserrat. Newly ensconced at Miramar and welcomed with open arms by the staff and community, Fr. Mark will improve and expand our offerings and promote our visibility as a place of peace, understanding and hospitality. Fr. BROTHER DON, Rector
Celebrating 61 years as a Divine Word Brother, Don Champagne has served the Society of the Divine Word as Business Office Manager, Music Educator, and Formation Director at the Society’s High School and College. Joining Miramar in 1991, first as Music Minister and later as Director / Rector, he also ministers to those living with HIV / AIDS and the elderly. Brother Don was a Board Member of the Religious Brother Conference for seven years and a past recipient of the Archdiocese of Boston’s Bishop Cheverus Medal. Ordained an SVD 1963, Joe Bisson served in New Guinea for many years as a missionary, educator and parish priest. One of his proudest achievements is founding what is now the Divine Word University in Madang Province, New Guinea. Now at Miramar for 2 years, Fr. A Sister of Notre Dame de Namur for the past 50 years, Maureen Casey has been involved in education, parish and retreat ministry and spiritual direction. Sr. Maureen has been on the retreat staff of Miramar for the past 15 years and also co-directs the Spiritual Direction Initiative held at the Sisters of St. Joseph in Brighton. Her particular interests include scripture, the mystics and the new cosmology and how they relate to God’s passion for our ever-evolving universe. After earning her B.S. in Psychology from Assumption College, Mary-Frances Goodell’s career has encompassed the hospitality, finance and telecommunications industries but felt the Hand of God in her 2015 transition from part-time work at Duxbury’s Holy Family Church to her full-time role as Registrar at Miramar. She now thrives on the hospitality component of her duties here and her part in expanding and nourishing an inn for Holy People of all denominations and affiliations. Mary-Fran finds her greatest joy in the Ministry offered at Miramar, knowing her energies are for Our Lord, and the blessings of the people she meets each day.
Having spent 30 of her professional years in the corporate for-profit sector, Rosemary Haviland now serves as a member of Miramar’s administrative staff. Rosemary supports Miramar’s internal staff members’ administration needs and orchestrates Miramar’s branding and marketing initiatives. A 25-year veteran of serving Miramar and its guests, Joanne Lane first joined Miramar’s kitchen/housekeeping staff. Always a team player, Joanne now capably manages the Center’s business management and human resources responsibilities, including management of the Gift Shop.
